Steven Gray is an award-winning editor, writer and producer. Currently, he is VP/managing editor of JP Morgan & Co. His print and digital work has appeared in The Washington Post, Time, Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, the Los Angeles Times, Ebony, and on Chicago Public Radio. His coverage has included Barack Obama, the Great Recession, poverty, education, criminal justice reform, the global food industry, technology, corporate governance, BP's response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, entrepreneurship, the same-sex marriage debate, Hurricane Katrina, and the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. In 2009 he opened Time Inc.'s Detroit editorial office as bureau chief, and from 2010 to 2012 was Time's Washington correspondent covering the intersection of politics, policy and business. He was born in New Orleans and received a B.A. degree in journalism from Howard University, where he was editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Hilltop. He studied international relations at the University of Kent's Brussels School of International Studies. He has been a Poynter Institute ethics fellow, and a fellow at the University of California, Berkeley's Knight Digital Media Center. In 2012 and 2013, he taught journalism at George Washington University, and Howard. He has provided analysis on National Public Radio, PBS, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He has lived, worked or studied in Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
