Pacific Northwest-based investigative unit Investigate West just released a report on the dangers of chemotherapy drugs for American health-care workers. Besides being life-saving drugs, chemotherapy drugs are known poisons, close chemical relatives to mustard gas, easy to spill, and hard to clean or even identity. And despite studies documenting increased rates of certain cancers among doctors and nurses, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration does not regulate their use in hospitals. For too many of our health-care workers, the consequences have been deadly.
