Toshio Meronek

Toshio Meronek is an independent journalist who has reported for The Advocate, Al Jazeera, In These Times, VICE, and the Nation. He covers LGBT/queer issues for Truthout, and his work appears in several anthologies, including Captive Genders: Trans Embodiment and the Prison Industrial Complex (2015) and Trap Door: Trans Cultural Production and the Politics of Visibility (2017). Based in San Francisco, Toshio previously co-edited The Abolitionist, a newspaper focused on prison issues.
